Gem Panic was pulled from AppStore a few weeks ago, because my developer license has expired at the end of the last year. Now my dev status is up again, and the game is also available to purchase. Get it, play it!

This is a very interesting project: Dark Ages RPG. Darklands is one of my all-time faovurite games. It would be good to join, but I have no free time. :(

Quite a long time passed without updating this blog. This post doesn’t bring a sudden change, because it is just a little sign of life. We are working hard on our new game and Gem Panic is ported to a new platform, too. Info and screenshots in a few days/weeks!

The first update for Gem Panic is available in the Apple App Store.

Improvements:

- restart button, to restart a level without going back to the level selection screen
- lone gems are blinking (help to detect unfinishable situations)

I’m proud to announce that our first game is shortly available; it’s iPhone version to be exact. It’s a puzzle/arcade game, a remake of an old classic. In amusement arcades and on 8 bit machines it was called Puzznic, after that it was renamed to Brix when it reached the PC platform. Naturally, the content is totally renewed, 90 self-designed levels await the puzzle fanatics in the Apple AppStore. We are planning to post a detailed retrospection about the development soon.

This is the game’s information page from the AppStore:

Gem Panic carries the feeling of the old classic puzzle games, while bringing new and modern gameplay and looks to your iPhone. It’s a simple, easy-to-use puzzle game, where you advance through levels by solving harder and harder teasers. You need to eliminate all elements (gems) by moving the matching ones near each other. Beware, if one is left unpaired you are screwed! There are not just gems, but also moving platforms, some tricky levels can’t be solved if you don’t use them wisely! Unlike it’s predecessors, this game has a strategy map containing the levels. First you start with one, but as you solve more, more and more will be unlocked. Mind the red ones and the outer rim, they are quite a challange! Be aware of the clock also, some levels test your reflexes besides your combination skills! These features bring the fun from the first moment, from a few minutes of play sitting in a traffic jam to hours and hours of entertainment providing new and diverse challanges with each new level. You can anytime pause or quit the game, your progress is saved. This is extended to multiple player profiles to share the fun with your friends and family! This game brings the fun for everyone, from the old veterans growing up on puzzle games to new players who never experienced this kind of brain-motivating puzzle world. An old king in a new console-quality coat, you will surely enjoy this unique puzzle game!

- 90 individual levels
- 4 unique tilesets (nature, industrial, hell, space)
- listen the two different game musics or your own ipod music
- 3 input methods (traditional and gyroscope-based also)
- 5 player profiles
- non-linear gameplay
- unlockable bonus levels
- easy-to-use animated user interface
- English/Hungarian language

This website is the homepage of a small, creative hungarian team, dedicated to video game development. Strictly indie projects, maintained as a hobby, so don’t expect AAA console stuff here. Instead, we try to focus on platforms where we can reach goals with only a few people and few resources. Understanding this, and our devotion to old school platforms, you can expect retro topics coming up here.
Most of the posts will be about our current projects, but you can expect every kind of information, theory, and writings regarding these themes, as well as other related stuff coming to our mind. We have no strong baseline, but i hope we can write here every now and then, and together we can find various themes, as our common hobby is diversified and interesting.

I wish a good time spent here for everyone who wants to join us!
